Take me out to the ballgame...

...And may the force be with you! We took Avi-Kate to her first Braves game at the Ted on August 3rd. Andy's cousin, Jennifer, joined us. She and Kyle have a son, Grant, that is a couple months younger than AG. We had a great time with them and thankfully the rain held off. It drizzled just a bit but we were fine because we were under the overhang. This game also happened to be Star Wars Fan appreciation night. It was hysterical because there were all sorts of costumes, Star Wars music, etc. throughout the night. Even the Friday Night Fireworks were Star Wars themed. All the music for the show was Star Wars at the end of the night. Not going to lie the music of Star Wars is perfect for a fireworks show. Avi-Kate did great but she's not in to it the way AG has been since he was her age. He loves everything about the game and the park. Avi-Kate was happy to graze along all night and finally took a nap at the end of the 7th. At the end of the night we put pjs on at the car and then headed North. The kids slept the whole way home and we got them in their beds without a peep.

Here's some fun from our night:

Darth Vadar taking the field before the game.
AG's favorite part of the park the Cow and Coke bottle.

In between innings they have the Home Depot Tools Race...this night half way in to the race Darth Vadar came out for a battle.

Grant and AG showing off their Choppin' skills.
'Welcome to the Jungle' and Craig Kimbrel came out to strike out all three batters in the 9th. Let's face it, if you follow baseball, he's ridiculous. Almost every pitch he threw was around 97+ mph.
A fun night was had by all. We'll need to do another game with the boys next year...maybe Ronnie and the Perkins will join us. As far as the rest of this season, we have plans to attend Chipper's last regular season homestand. It coincides with the UGA vs. UT game and so we'll make it a sports weekend.

A lefty or a righty?

Hmmmmm...how about both?

Over the last year we've begun to closely watch AG to see which hand he prefers for tasks. Around this age children will pick which hand they prefer and go with it. As a lefty myself I've always hoped we would have another lefty in the family. My sister, Meghan, and I were the only two lefties in our immediate family of six.

Well, for over a year now AG has favored his right hand when it comes to using utensils and writing utensils. However, he continues to favor his left hand in sports. When playing baseball he bats left but throws right. In golf, he prefers his left. Andy has been waiting to buy AG's first set of clubs because he wanted to see if AG would stick with his left hand before he spent the money on real clubs. Andy is hoping that as he begins to get in to soccer that he will also be left footed...time will tell with that one. My husband, the sports fanatic, is quite excited about the possibilities with AG using his left hand in sports since players that are dominate left can be in high demand. So, we'll see but if I was a betting woman I'd say he'll write/eat right handed and continue to play sports left handed. He seems pretty set in his ways. :)

PS--He dressed himself. When he wears his rainboots and shorts I call him Christopher Robin...to which he always informs me, "I not Christopher Robin, Mama. I AG." Yes, you certainly are my always on the go three year old.

Few words needed...

...thanks Bobby for your dedication to a club that was considered a nobody. You saw something and made the Braves "America's Team" and for that we will be forever grateful. Life at The Ted will never be the same. It's the end of an era.
