This past weekend we went to the farm to see Andy's family. We love spending time down there and this weekend was no exception. The county was holding it's annual festival, Buzzard Blast, on Saturday. Originally Andy, Caroline, and I were all going to run the 5K that morning but I decided that leaving Mama with four small children might not be the mother's day present she was looking for. :) So, I stayed home while Andy and Caroline ran. They both placed! That afternoon we went to the festival and the kids had a ball...'cept for when we first arrived the chainsaw sculpture guy was a little loud for Ronnie and AG.
After working up a sweat in the inflatables Nanny took them to get something cool to drink. AG kept telling us the whole way home that he played hard!We spent some time out by the pool taking pictures and checking out the facelift on the pool since it was made over this spring.
Avi-Kate and Daddy invented a new game. He would tip her back and she would squeal, then he would sit her up and she would purposely fall in to Andy's chest. They did this over and over again.
Avi-Kate snuggled with Nanny while Samson got a thorough scrub down...and AG played in a bucket.
Avi-Kate enjoyed apple juice in her cup all weekend long and she enjoyed her first BBQ. Our favorite BBQ place, Purvis', is found right outside of town on the way to Mama's house. Whenever we visit we bring it back with us and stash it in the freezer for a later date. We even have her bring some with her when she comes up to visit us.
This little face cracks me up...this particular meal she was trying to determine how she feels about mac'n'cheese.
AG got to see the new litter of barn kittens while Samson was stashed in the house and out of sight.
We also got to visit with aunts, uncles, and lots of cousins. And here's AKs during her last meal before we left. She enjoyed sitting sideways in the highchair all weekend long. (This highchair was Andy's mom's when she was a baby.)
Little sideways legs...she did it all weekend long. Every time we fixed her she turned again. We finally gave up trying.
We'll be back at the farm in a few weeks and we are already looking forward to it.
